Baie de Beauport

Right outside the city of Quebec is Baie de Beauport, a beach oasis where you least expect it. Approximately a 10 minute drive from the center of Quebec City it offers what any traditional beach offers but on the bank of the St. Lawrence River. The water of the Saint Lawrence river forms small ripples instead of waves so it’s great for kids. Although some people may not like the small shallow area to frolic in, it is ideal for children.  There is a large beach area where many were sunbathing. Past the designated swimming area one can kayak and participate in other water sports as well. If you get there early enough you might be lucky to get one of their chaise lounges or hammocks which are free to use.

Spray park at Baie de Beauport

Besides the water and sand Baie de Beauport also offers a great playground which looks like a kids obstacle course as well as a spray park. It was surrounded by shady trees which offered some relief from the sun, the water at the spray park was pretty cold as well. There is a food truck with great

Barbecue bikes are available for rent so you can even grill. You bike to your preferred spot and grill. Baie de Beauport also hosts events like yoga on the beach on Sunday mornings as well as really cool summer concerts with well known international artists.
