The Aliksir Herbalism Economuseum (Aliksir Économusée de l'herboristerie) is a unique attraction in Quebec. Now gaining popularity as part of the agritourism movement, Aliksir has been manufacturing essential oils from organically grown plants since 1988.
Using plants grown organically on the family farm as well as plants gathered from the wild, Aliksir distills essential oils using a traditional steam-based process. Visitors can take a guided tour or visit the on-site museum to learn all about the production of essential oils, often used for medicinal or aromatherapeutic purposes.
Aliksir also offers classes in oil making for groups and families.
