Web Site: Ferme Les Canardises
Ferme Les Canardises specializes in ducks from the nest to the table. In addition to growing Mulard and Muscovy ducks, Les Canardises also prepares their ducks according to old French and Alsatian recipes. Visitors to the farm can see how the ducks are raised and then buy ducky delicacies to bring home. Les Canardises also operates a boutique in the town of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré? where their full line of gourmet treats is available for sale.
The farm operates on knowledgeability and tradition. They grow two different kinds of ducks because they know that Mulards make the best liver pâté (le foie gras), while Muscovies produce the most delicious meat. The farmers are happy to share their depth of experience on guided tours of the farm. Visitors are requested to call for reservations first, but the $2.00 (CAN) admission fee is reimbursed as soon as visitors cave in to the overwhelming urge to purchase one of the mouthwatering poultry treats for sale in the little shop on-site. Visitors are also welcome to walk the grounds and take advantage of the picnic site on the farm (a necessary convenience, with the fruits of their delicious recipies so near at hand)!
