The Fromagerie des Grondines is a relative newcomer to the Quebec agritourism scene, but it was a project 15 years in the making. Veteran Québécois dairy farmers Charles Trottier and Guylaine Rivard wanted to branch out and improve their production quality, and the dream was finally realized when they were joined by Louis Arsenault.

The new Fromagerie des Grondines, purveyors of certified-organic raw milk cheeses made from the milk of free-range goats and Swiss cows, opened in 2007. However, its artisanal methods are founded on centuries of tradition. The cheese they make is crafted entirely by hand, using only whole milk for a richer flavor. The Swiss cows' milk, renowned for its ideal suitability for cheese thanks to an unusually high concentration of fat and protein, imbues the cheeses with superior flavor. This flavor is enhanced by a washed rind and a two-month aging process.

The Fromagerie des Grondines offers free tastings of its superior cheese, and guided tours of the farm are available by reservation. Visitors to the farm can purchase cheese to take away with them, as well as the farm's own organic meat.
