The Funicular is the only one of its kind it North America and is similar to the Funiculaire trains in Europe such as the one in Montmartre, paris.
Situated in the old city of Quebec, and dating back to 1879, it transports people directly from the upper town to the lower town of Quebec city. The main entrance of the funicular is located in the historic House Louis Jolliet and the other entrance is at the Terrasse Dufferin.
Fare is CAD 1.75 and opening hours are 7.30am to 11pm or midnight in the summer.
