L’entrecote Saint-Jean is a charming restaurant in the center of Old Quebec right on rue Saint-Jean. We had a lovely table outside with a great view of the local happenings. The restaurant is known for its steak-frites which we ordered and it was delicious. Many restaurants have steak-frites on their menu but L’entrecote Saint-Jean has mastered this dish. It is a sirloin steak smothered in their secret sauce served with matchstick fries. You can order from three different sized portions of steak depending on your appetite. The sauce is decadent and light at the same time, it definitely is unique and I can see why they keep it a secret. One can always ask for the sauce on the side but don’t pass on it, it is worth the calories. For those not in the mood for steak they have other traditional French dishes like Duck Leg Confit and Croque-Monsieur. The service was excellent as well.
