Savino is a hip restaurant located on Grande Allee. It is sleek and dark with hip music playing in the background. The menu reads like a glossy, fashion magazine.
The menu consists of mostly modern Italian food including pizzas, pastas as well as meat and seafood dishes. The bread basket comes with high quality olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
We started our meal with the antipasto misto which included fried calamari, olives, smoked salmon and buffalo mozzarella as well as other treats. Highlights for us were definitely the shrimp cocktail, the calamari and the tuna tartar.

For dinner we had the cod fillet which was wrapped in prosciutto.
We’ve never had cod wrapped in prosciutto but then again prosciutto on anything is amazing. We will certainly try cooking fish like this at home. The fettuccine with duck leaks, baby spinach was cooked al dente, many Italian restaurants in Quebec City seem to miss the mark with al dente but Savini does it right. The ossobuco served with gnocchi had some of the best gnocchi we ever had.
