The Musée de la Nature is in Saint-Tite-des-Caps, east of Quebec City on Route 138. It is a useful family stop when traveling toward Côte-de-Beaupré or Charlevoix, not a museum in central Quebec City.
What is inside
The museum describes a 7,000-square-foot exhibition space containing thousands of carefully preserved animal specimens from dozens of countries. Displays include mammals, birds, fish, insects, shells, and other natural-history material.
Outdoor activities
The site now also promotes two outdoor routes: a one-kilometre safari-style trail with animal models and a dinosaur park featuring life-size reconstructions. These additions make weather and footwear more important than they were for the original indoor-only visit.
