Chez Boulay

Chez Boulay is located right on Rue St Jean. It’s menu includes many dishes and flavoring from the boreal region north of Quebec City. Boreal cuisine is not something you often find.

Unless your child is a foodie or your willing to pay full price, don’t take the kids.  That said, the lunch menu which includes more than one course is less than $20 a person.  It is one of my daughters favorite restaurants.

The restaurant decor as well as the cuisine invokes the Boreal Forest.  The menu itself even follows that theme coming on a wooden clipboard. It’s the perfect balance between a more casual atmosphere and high end food, which is what we love about Quebec.
The food is beautifully displayed, even the bread comes out in a stack on a skewer. The pork fillet encrusted with herbs is best pork we’ve ever had, but all the dishes were top notch.
