Quebec City Drone Videos: Aerial Views and Filming Rules

Aerial videos reveal Quebec City’s cliffs, river, fortifications, and compact historic core in a way street-level footage cannot. They are useful for trip inspiration, but making your own footage requires careful legal and safety checks.

Great aerial subjects

  • The St. Lawrence River and Québec–Lévis ferry route.
  • Montmorency Falls and the surrounding landscape.
  • Île d’Orléans, photographed without intruding on private property.
  • The Old Quebec skyline from legal, distant viewpoints.

Before flying a drone

Canadian drone rules depend on aircraft weight, pilot certification, airspace, distance from people, and the location. Quebec City also includes sensitive historic areas, dense crowds, airports, heliports, and locations with their own property rules.

Never assume that footage online proves a flight was legal. Check current Transport Canada requirements, official airspace tools, municipal rules, park rules, event restrictions, and property-owner permission immediately before flying. Respect privacy and wildlife.

If you only want the view, the Québec–Lévis ferry offers excellent skyline photography without a drone.
