A surprisingly spacious breakfast stop
Bon Matin occupied an easy-to-miss strip-mall location near the Quebec Aquarium. The exterior was modest, but the dining room was larger, brighter and airier than we expected. It worked as a relaxed breakfast or lunch stop for people staying in Sainte-Foy or visiting the aquarium.
Local art gave the room personality
The restaurant displayed work by Quebec artists, with pieces offered for sale. A large sunflower mural on the ceiling added colour and kept the space from feeling like a generic diner.
What we ate
Our cappuccino and mocha were both well made. The vegetable skillet was satisfying, although we would have preferred more vegetables in relation to the potatoes. Chocolate eggs served with the French toast added a playful touch.
Friendly, efficient service
The staff greeted us warmly, answered menu questions and stayed attentive even while the restaurant was busy. The room felt active but not rushed.
