Le Bunker de la Science in Lévis is active and still built around the idea that science works better when it feels like a mission instead of a lecture.
The centre is at 5935 rue Saint-Laurent, near the Lévis riverfront and Québec–Lévis ferry. It combines science experiments, immersive games and post-apocalyptic challenges for families, school groups and private groups.
Our family tried one of the more difficult experiences there. The science and mathematics were built into the puzzle rather than added afterward, which is exactly why the visit worked.
What families can book now
Le Bunker is open year-round, but the current public-family schedule is limited.
The operator says family activities are offered during school holidays, while weekends are primarily used for children’s birthday parties outside those holiday periods.
That means this is not a normal walk-in attraction with the same public schedule every day. Use the current public-program page and booking calendar before crossing the river.
What the experience is like
Le Bunker describes itself as a science centre crossed with an immersive game environment.
Its current materials say the Lévis operation has multiple post-apocalyptic laboratories and immersive science games designed to make participants solve problems rather than passively watch demonstrations.
The strongest part of our visit was how the problems required observation and collaboration. Someone who was not quick with one type of puzzle could still help with another.
Age ranges vary by activity
Different programs are built for different ages. The operator currently lists science workshops aimed roughly at ages 6 to 12, while other missions and outdoor activities have different age guidance.
Choose the activity based on the youngest participant rather than assuming every Bunker experience works equally well for every child.
A confident younger child may enjoy the ideas but still need an adult to interpret instructions or keep the team organized.
Reservations are essential
The centre currently describes access as reservation only.
Confirm the activity, age range, duration, language, group size and cancellation policy before you travel.
Public offerings can also change by school calendar, Halloween programming and summer outdoor schedules, so an old review may describe a mission that is not bookable on your date.
Location and access from Quebec City
Le Bunker is close to the Lévis waterfront, which makes the ferry part of the experience for visitors staying in Quebec City.

Who will enjoy Le Bunker most
This is a good fit for families whose children enjoy experiments, mysteries or team challenges, as well as multigenerational groups that want everyone to have a role.
It may be less suitable for visitors who want a passive museum visit or who cannot commit to a reserved start time.
Our own experience worked especially well for preteens and teens because the story gave them a reason to use scientific thinking. Adults were not left watching from the side.
