Museum of Bad Art – Quebec City

The Museum of Bad Art in Quebec is a temporary installation running now untill October. It is not as the name suggests simply bad art but art done with correct artistic procedure however the poor choices.

It started in Dedham, Massachusetts  with one piece that was done well but all makes one question why the artist even chose t do it. This particular exhibit has a wide range of types of art going from painting to mixed media. It’s a perfect use of the space of the old Place Royal Museum and takes up two floors.

It’s also a brilliant thing to do with the kids because it’s free. The kids like it as it’s a great test into art that doesn’t hit the pocket. In addition, I love the fact that it’s a great conversation starter with the kids to discuss with them what makes art. Clearly the artist in each of these cases felt passionate about what they did well though when you see it there is the common theme of it being actually bad.

The exhibit is in Place Royale and runs
