Sagamite Restaurant

Sagamite is a  Restaurant serving First Nations food located in Wendake Quebec which is an Indian reservation. Wendake is a 15 minute drive north of Quebec City.  Sagamite is a traditional soup of the Wendake people where you find the famous “Three Sisters”: squash, corn and red beans that are grown in the region. Sagamite is an upscale beautifully decorated restaurant and worth the drive for some authentic First Nations food.  As you enter tow expertly carved totem poles greet you. It is most known for its meats such as deer, elk and bison. When in season you can have caribou as well. One of their specialities is their flaming dish, which is your choice of meats flambed at the table. Keep in mind the meat in this dish is served rare, so be prepared emotionally for blood! It also came with fresh and delicious vegetables and potatoes. If that is not your thing, they had many other gourmet entrees. The service also was exceptional.
